For Christmas, Nick gave me a vague gift of 'a trip.' He didn't tell me where but that it would be in January. January 12th came around and I found myself preparing for a trip that I had no idea the destination. My mom and sisters packed me so I couldn't have any hints where we were going. Six and a half hours in the car and we arrived in beautiful Niagara Falls. The first night we went to dinner at Rainforest Café and called it an early night. Saturday, we had breakfast, did a little shopping for long underwear, because let me tell you, it was COLD AS ALL GET OUT. After lunch at TGIFridays and a quick change, we were ready to take on the Falls looking like the michelin man with our layers. We went up to the observation deck for a better view and Nick asked someone to take some photos of us. She took a few and started to hand the phone back but Nick persisted on getting a couple more "candid" shots. Nick then proceeded to turn to me with his signature smirk, got down on one knee, and said, "Shelby, you're my best friend, the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" I, of course, said yes with the biggest smile on my face!
You're ENGAGED!! First off, congrats! As a newlywed myself, I know completely all of the feelings you are experiencing. From the joy of having a shiny new ring and now having a fiancé, everything is so thrilling and I couldn't be more EXCITED for you! Seriously, I get ecstatic and LOVE to chat about all the details and what’s to come. More importantly, I love to encourage you in your soon to be MARRIAGE, because that’s the best part of it all!
